Southern Utah University is located in beautiful Cedar City, Utah also known as the Gateway to the National Parks and Festival City, USA. In 2016, Cedar City was named in the Top 20 College Towns in America by CollegeRank.net. With a population of just over 30,000, the community provides a quaint, college town-atmosphere and an exceptionally safe environment. SUU's campus provides a serene and dynamic setting for education in proximity to the largest concentration of national parks and monuments in the U.S. A short 40-minute drive from campus places students waist deep in Utah’s “greatest snow on Earth” during winter months - prime conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Hiking and biking trails are available year-round at Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon, which are all within reasonable driving distance. For those seeking a city fix, the lights of Las Vegas are just a two-hour drive from campus, with Salt Lake City located three hours to the north. Saint George, Utah, a short 40 minutes down the road, is home to approximately 120,000 residents and provides additional entertainment and dining options as well as year-round warm weather and gorgeous red rock scenery.
